IBI CORPORATE FINANCE PREMIER LEAGUE & CHAMPIONSHIP – JUNE 6TH

Convincing wins were the order of the day across the top two divisions on the opening day of the season, with just one game in each division being a real nail-biting finish. In the Premier League, Pembroke got the better of Clontarf by 16 runs in the dress-rehearsal for next week’s SLC final, whilst in the Championship, Railway Union squeaked home against Terenure by two wickets in the final over.

Elsewhere in the Premier League, a Dylan Blignaut century helped The Hills to a 110 run victory against Malahide, a Kashif Ali five-for saw Balbriggan defend 138 comfortably by 75 runs. Whilst in Claremont Road, 63 from Harry Tector off the back of four wickets for Mikey O’Reilly saw YMCA to a 6 wicket victory against Merrion.

Around the grounds in the Championship, North Kildare’s overseas player Kaustabh Pawar announced his arrival with 191 out of their total of 310/6, as Manjeet Singh’s four wickets then saw them to a 262 run victory. Saqib Bahadur’s 66 saw Leinster make 189 all out, before 5 wickets for captain Bilal Azhar meant they restricted North County to 68 all out and a 121 run victory. Finally, Llew Johnson made 138 of the first 211 runs as Rush posted 268/9, before four wickets for Jack McGee helped them bowl Harlequins out for 185, meaning an 83 run win for Rush.
