  3. HOME WIN FOR TERENURE OVER KILDARE (12.7.2026)
12th July 2026 by Cricket Leinster

HOME WIN FOR TERENURE OVER KILDARE (12.7.2026)

SCORE SUMMARY

North Kildare 127 All Out, 27.5 overs (Nazmus Monon 30, Nurulain Boda 23; Naveed Khan 5/31, Benjamin Dillon 2/34, Mick Cotter 6 catches)

Terenure 132/3, 17.1 overs (Dónal Lynch 37, Zeeshan Mumtaz 34, Mick Cotter 24; Nazmus Monon 2/24)

Terenure win by 7 wkts.

MATCH SUMMARY

North Kildare won the toss and chose to bat first at Terenure but were quickly in trouble with both openers dismissed by Naveed Khan in only the second over.

The innings never really recovered from its shaky start such that the visitors had been reduced to 55/8 in the 15th over.

Khan and Benjamin Dillon did most of the damage to this point and finished with 5/31 and 2/34 respectively.

Ironically numbers 9, 10 and 11 showed more application with the bat and in doing so added a valuable 72 runs for the last 2 wickets to put some respectability of what had been a poor batting performance in ideal batting conditions. Nazmun Monon top-scored with 30 whilst Nuralain Boda made 23 before North Kildare’s innings subsided to 127 all out with 22 overs unused.

A key personal highlight was that Mick Cotter had taken no less than 6 catches in the innings.

In reply, Terenure were quickly reduced to 29/2 including the crucial wicket of captain Henry Dall. Nazmus Monon had claimed both, continuing his strong individual performance.

Mick Cotter and Zeeshan Mumtaz then combined to steady the chase adding a useful 43 for the third wicket before Cotter was dismissed by Asadullah Ahmadzai for 24. Terenure 72/3 off 13.1 overs at that stage.

This brought Dónal Lynch to the wicket to join Mumtaz and together they made short work of things plundering the remaining required runs such that Terenure crossed the winning line in just 17.2 overs with Lynch 37* off only 19 balls and Mumtaz 34* off 39 balls.

A morale boosting home win for Terenure in what is proving to be a very competitive IBI Corporate Finance First Team League!
