  3. HIGH DRAMA IN SPORTSHUB SENIOR LEAGUE CUP - ROUND-UP MONDAY MAY 2ND
2nd May 2022 by Mick Cotter

HIGH DRAMA IN SPORTSHUB SENIOR LEAGUE CUP - ROUND-UP MONDAY MAY 2ND

A dramatic day in the SportsHub Senior League Cup was headlined by three incredible last-gasp victories.

Firstly Leinster chasing down 139 off the final ball of their 37 over innings against Cork County.

That was before news filtered through of some Barry McCarthy heroics in North County, where he hit a 6 from the final delivery of their 50 overs to bring Pembroke to a 4 wicket victory.

David Delany - The Hero of the day with the bat for Clontarf

But arguably the most incredible game was the final result to come through this evening with the news that a remarkable innings of 86* from David Delany had seen Clontarf to a dramatic one-wicket victory in the final throws of their game against North Kildare. Delany helped his side recover from 30/5 to seal an incredible last-gasp victory. Delany’s final wicket stand with Ben McCabe was worth 33 runs in total.
