GIRLS U17 IP CAMPAIGN BEGINS - JUNE 20TH

We are delighted to announce the following two squads selected for the U17 Interprovincial Series:

The Squads are coached by Eimear Richardson (CL Blue)  and Chuka Uba (CL Navy), and managed by Naomi Scott Hayward.

Game One Round-Up

The Leinster Blue and Leinster Navy squads played their opening fixtures against each other in the U17 Girls’ Interprovincial Series today in Oak Hill CC. After months of hard work during their comprehensive training programme, the players are ready to test themselves against the best young cricketers from around the provinces. The series promises a packed schedule of competitive cricket, with matches played in both T20 and 40-over formats over the coming days, with both Leinster teams in action. Today saw our two squads face off against each other in a T20 to kick start the series., Leinster Blue won the toss and elected to bowl. Leinster Navy set a target of 104 with Isabelle McLean scoring 37 off with notable partnerships of 45 with Aisling Lawlor and 23 with Sinead Thomson. Leinster Navy’s top bowlers were Tara O'Brien 4-0-17-2, Síbha Bhoja 4-0-21-2 and captain Arisha Foysal taking 1 off her 4 overs for just 18 runs.

Leinster Blue had a rocky start with an early wicket taken by Thompson but recovered quickly with a strong partnership (52) from Lizzie Troup (33*) and Genevieve Morrissey(15) which put them in a strong position. In the end Leinster Navy took the win by 4 wickets.
