Leinster Cricket Club’s young fast bowler Finn Conroy has joined Ireland seamers Josh Little and David Delany in winning the prestigious Cricket Leinster Youth ‘Find a Fast Bowler’ competition.

2025 marks the 19th year of the competition, which seeks to identify young, talented quick bowlers within the Leinster province and to support their development towards representing their clubs and Leinster in their youth inter-provincial fixtures.
Finn is the second winner from the Rathmines club following in the footsteps of Mark Tonge who now opens the bowling for his club first team and has represented Dublin City in the CL Under 23 competition and Leinster at all underage levels and most recently as part of the Leinster Lightning and Leinster Bolts squads.
2018 winner, Reuben Wilson, who is preparing to lead the Ireland bowling attack at the U19 World Cup in Namibia and Zimbabwe, was delighted to pass on his congratulations to Finn:
“Congratulations Finn, welcome to the club! I remember well being welcomed by Rory Anders 7 years ago and to this day, I am very proud to have been recognised in this way. Now, as it is my turn to welcome you, I want to congratulate you on all you've achieved so far in your journey and I hope that in a few years’ time, it will be your turn to not only welcome the winner, but also lead Ireland’s bowling attack at a World Cup!"
A very happy Finn, on winning the award, added: “It is an honour to be selected as this year’s winner. I would like to thank my parents for all of their support and sacrifices to make my cricket possible, while also acknowledging everyone at the Leinster CC for their support, in particular to all my coaches and teammates, who make cricket such an inspiring part of my life”.
