FINGAL TO WELCOME LEADING UK CRICKET ACADEMY

London-based cricket academy Primrose Hill has confirmed it will be undertaking a special five-day tour with their boys u13 squad to experience the ever-growing quality of Fingal cricket.

The club, created and run by Mathew Turner, sees over 100 cricketers a year, with current England youngster Maia Bouchier and 30+ junior county players alumni of the youth programmes at Primrose Hill.

The tour, supported by Leinster Youth, and welcomed by Fingal County Council brings together young cricketers who coming out of the pandemic, and are looking forward to developing new friendships through the game.

In a first for a cricket youth tour, the matches will blend opportunities for young cricketers at Malahide, The Hills and Balbriggan cricket clubs, to play representative matches before Primrose Hill take on Fingal, and a Leinster u13 X1 at Ringcommons CC on the final two days.

Brian O’Rourke, Cricket Development Manager for Fingal, welcomed the tour, and the support of the Fingal cricket community adding “this is an outstanding opportunity for young Fingal based cricketers to represent their clubs and community.  The support of the Fingal clubs has yet again been second to none, and I hope, as does everyone in Cricket Leinster and Fingal County Council, this is just the start of the annual youth cricket tours to Fingal”

Niall McGuirk, Senior Sports Officer with Fingal County Council was delighted to see the tour had been confirmed adding “The Fingal County Council sports team send their congratulations to all involved in ensuring this tour has been created.  We hope Primrose Hill enjoy their time in Fingal, and our Fingal young cricketers showcase, not only the spirit but the cricket talent here in Fingal, that you all so proudly showed no pandemic could stop from being developed”.

Mon July 11th – Malahide CC vs Primrose Hill at Malahide CC 10am

Tue July 12th – The Hills CC vs Primrose Hill at The Hills CC 12.30pm

Wed July 13th – Balbriggan vs Primrose Hill at Balbriggan CC 12.30pm

Thur July 14th – Fingal vs Primrose Hill at Ringcommons CC 10am

Fri July 15th – Leinster vs Primrose Hill at Ringcommons CC 10am
