The second instalment of 50 over cricket in the District Cup for 2026 takes place this week, as Dublin University are set to host North Leinster in the longer format this time around.
The hosts were chastened in last week's 50 over game, being beaten by double-scores against a strong South Leinster outfit, for whom Danny Forkin led the way with an unbeaten century.
There's a stronger look to the Students this week, regular skipper Mikey O'Reilly returns having missed last week, however star batter Rory Betley misses out due to work commitments, whilst they're also without Don Retty.

Alongside O'Reilly, there are welcome returns too for both Ryan Smith and Ahijah Hill, adding depth across all disciplines.
Hill and O'Reilly will join a spin-heavy attack that includes offies from Yash Bala, a pair of left-arm spinners in Donncha Tucker and Conall Woods, and the leg-breaks of Joe McCarthy.
With the bat, Smith slots into the middle order along with the skipper, and they'll look to build on a platform from the regular opening duo of Macdara Cosgrave and Olliver Mollins.

North Leinster meanwhile were utterly dominant in last Wednesday's T20 fixture between these two sides, with runs for Séamus Lynch seeing him added to the Leinster Lightning squad for this week.
Muzamil Sherzad and John Devane were also in the runs that day, and they appear once again, whilst Adam Doyle once again captains the side as one of a trio from Malahide.

There are also two others from The Hills alongside Sherzad, including his brother Yaseen, and Killian McGrane, whilst Devane has two North County team-mates in the shape of Muhammad Sherzad and Husnain Maroof.
