Cricket can be a cruel sport, especially when bad weather affects the outcome. Yesterday a number of matches in the Russell Court D1 and D2 had progressed to the point where one team was in a dominant position. In the case of Railway - they just needed another over or perhaps two to take their first league win of the season. But when bad weather intervenes - it is all for nothing. The teams have to start again from the start. It also means that runs scored and wickets taken are not included as part of the senior records. Of course it also means that there is a reprieve for those who may have got out for a low score.
