  3. CRICKET LEINSTER AGM & AUTUMN MEETING (14.10.2021)
14th October 2021 by Cricket Leinster

CRICKET LEINSTER AGM & AUTUMN MEETING (14.10.2021)

AGM

At the Cricket Leinster AGM, there were a number of key developments:

The audited accounts for 2020 were approved confirming prudent financial management during a very challenging year.

Jim Bennett (The Hills CC) was confirmed as President for 2022 and will oversee a major archive project as part of his term of office.

Jim succeeds Stella Downes (Clontarf CC) who has completed a very successful term of office as President - Stella’s contribution has been immense and was warmly acknowledged by all who attended the meeting.

Pat Banahan (Leinster CC) was elected to the position of President Elect and will become President of Cricket Leinster for 2023. As a former Honorary Treasurer of CL, Pat is very familiar with all aspects of CL. He is also hugely liked and respected throughout the club cricket community in particular for his advocacy of women’s cricket and youth cricket.

There were a number of Directors re-elected to the Board to serve for another term as follows:

  • Barry Tucker (Pembroke CC), who is Chair of Finance
  • Paul Reynolds (Leinster CC), who is Chair of Cricket
  • Siobhan McBennett (Rush CC), who is Chair of the Women’s Committee
  • Peter Twamley (Pembroke CC)
  • Stella Downes (Clontarf CC)

Meena Baskasubramanian was confirmed as an Independent Director for a second term.

Autumn General Meeting

At the Cricket Leinster Autumn General Meeting (which immediately followed the AGM), there was a short address from both the outgoing President (Stella Downes, Clontarf CC) and the incoming President (Jim Bennett, The Hills CC).

Reports from all sections and committees were reviewed (having been circulated in advance of the meeting). Elections to each of the Committee for 2022 was confirmed as per the table below (with additional people to be co-opted as required).

As Chairperson, John Heavey thanked all members of the Board, Cricket Committee, Finance Committee, Open Competitions Committee, Women’s Committee, Youth Committee, Disciplinary Committee, Decisions Appeals Board, Accreditation Committee, Child Safeguarding & Inclusion Committee, Grounds Committee, Coaches Association, Officials Committee and our partners in the LCU&SA – all of whom work tirelessly to assist in the running of Cricket Leinster which is hugely appreciated.
