Please find the following link on our website the updated Concussion Guidelines which are effective immediately.
The guidelines are intended mainly for clubs, schools and anywhere that cricket might be played without dedicated medical assistance.
The document sets out our shared expectations for the recognition, immediate management and return‑to‑play procedures for suspected and confirmed concussion across all grassroots (mainly club cricket) environments. The guidelines apply to all players, coaches, officials and volunteers, with specific protocols for adults, adolescents and children.
The key message is clear: If a concussion is suspected, the player must be removed immediately and must not return to play the same day.
We ask that you:
- Familiarise yourself with the guidelines
- Share them with your club coaches, umpires and relevant volunteers at your club
- Support consistent implementation, particularly where medical personnel may not be present
Player welfare is a priority and these guidelines are an important part of ensuring a safe playing environment across the game.
