  3. CL PLAYER REGISTRATION - NOW UP TO 4,500 (24.4.2023)
24th April 2023 by Cricket Leinster

CL PLAYER REGISTRATION - NOW UP TO 4,500 (24.4.2023)

A further 550+ players have registered during April to-date as we remain on course for our biggest playing numbers since records have been maintained at this level.

With the first major (3-day) weekend approaching, it is worth noting that there are 117 fixtures scheduled over the three days including lots of T20 cricket competition action.

In particular, the LHK Group sponsored Senior Open T20 Competition commences for the Alan Murray Trophy which will be played over the coming weeks leading up to the Finals Day on Saturday 27th May.

Sunday 30th April sees the first round of fixtures in our exciting new District Under 23 competition with Dublin University hosting Dublin City at College Park whilst South Dublin & Midlands host Fingal at The Maws in Kilcock - full details on all squads & fixtures in the coming days.

The top 15 clubs (in terms of player registrations) is now as follows:

Merrion (257)
Adamstown (236)
Leinster (221)
Pembroke (220)
Clontarf (194)
Phoenix (190)
Malahide (184)
The Hills (179)
North Kildare (157)
Railway Union (119)
Terenure (117)
Balbriggan (111)
Tyrrelstown (109)
Castleknock (107)
Rush (105)

That said, there are still plenty of players from 2022 still to sign up for the season ahead with the biggest numbers in this 'to be renewed' category as follows

Pembroke - 172
Merrion - 147
Leinster - 122
Adamstown - 112
Railway Union - 96
Clontarf - 94
Phoenix - 88
YMCA - 77

For those wishing to (re) register, you can do so by following this link:

And remember registration includes full Personal Accident Insurance and a contribution to the CL Disability Cricket Programme.

Finally, any youth players who do not participate in organised CL youth competitions (especially under 9s) can register in their own name under the ‘social’ category at a cost of just €5.00.

This means that all such participants will be fully insured (personal accident cover) under the CL Insurance Scheme as they enjoy informal club cricket, friendlies, blitzes or even the national programmes - Smash It & It’s Wicket!

And remember, there is a briefing for all CL clubs on the national programmes next Wednesday 3rd May at 7.00pm, you can register to attend (by zoom) here:
