Week 8 "Qualifier Weekend" fixtures, will be confirmed when the final group standings are completed.
Competition Rules
Eight players in a team.
Each innings consists of 12 six ball overs and must be completed within 35 minutes playing time (5 runs will be awarded to the batting team for every one minute that the runs over the specified time)
Winning teams will be decided by which team scores the most runs in their innings. No declarations are allowed.
The fielding team will be made up of 8 players at a time however substitutes can be used whilst fielding so that a team can rotate players.
Batters will bat in pairs for 3 overs.
All wickets carry a 5 run penalty. At the fall of a wicket, the batter who was not dismissed shall take the strike, with the batters changing ends if necessary. A batter shall continue to bat for three overs, even if dismissed.
Shots that hit the boundary wall without making contact with the ground or a side wall, count as “six” runs.
Shots that hit the boundary wall after making contact with the ground, but without making contact with a side wall, count as “four” runs. A boundary “four” or “six” may also be scored as a leg bye.
The batting side shall score “two” runs for completing a run between the wickets. The striker shall be caught out if the ball is caught in full off of one or more side walls.
The LBW dismissal will not be a valid wicket.
Maximum of two overs per bowler (which cannot be consecutive).
A horizontal line will be placed half way down the pitch. Any ball pitching wholly to the bowlers side of that line will be called a no ball
Wides and No Balls do not count as a legal delivery in the over
Guidelines will be marked on the pitch for wide deliveries. Any ball passing outside the guideline, whether on the off side or the leg side will be called wide, as long as it does not touch the batters person, gloves or bat
Cricket Leinster will provide an on-site match manager who will oversee all aspects including final results
Official umpires will be provided for each match day
