CL HBBL UPDATE – COMPETITION NEARS HALF-WAY STAGE!

A busy opening three weeks in the CL Hundred Ball Business League has seen 15 games decided, with some real competition heating up as the groups begin to take shape!

GROUP A

This one is tight as it can be, with PWC and Accenture both having won their opening game, the pair of fixtures between the two sides on July 13th and 16th could be all important, however ESB are certainly not out of it, and could put themselves into the box seat if they beat Accenture next Tuesday. PWC also take on Amazon next week, knowing that if they slip up it will give Accenture the upper-hand.

Accenture are one of three teams tied at the top in Group A

GROUP B

Deloitte were convincing winners in their opening game against IBM, who have subsequently bounced back to win an incredibly close game against KPMG this week by just one run. Deloitte take on SAP on Monday, followed by KPMG the next week, knowing a brace of wins would put them all but through to the semi-final when the head-to-head record against IBM is taken into account.

IBM's one-run win on Tuesday keeps them in contention for top spot!

GROUP C

The latest result included in the table comes from last night’s action in Park Avenue, where Microsoft claimed a 55 run win against FMR to solidify their grip at the top of the group. They take the field again on Tuesday evening against Sogeti, and a win would put them through to the semi-final stage. Eirgrid can also reach 12 points, however having lost against Microsoft already, they will require them to drop points in order to overtake them.

Microsoft top the log in Group C

GROUP D

Our final group is the one with the most progress thus far, and is looking set to be tight at the top. Aon’s two wins has pushed them level with EY, however the holders have a game in hand and have also beaten the competition newcomers so lead the tie-breaker. Google had a convincing win against Bank of America last week and will be hoping to take advantage of any slip ups, whilst Gresham House are also enjoying an unbeaten start to their second season in the competition.

EY are in pole position in Group D
