CL GIRLS SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE & NEXT STEPS

This week saw U13 & U15 girls participating in  the inaugural year of the Cricket Leinster Girls School of Excellence. It was open to all the girls nominated by their clubs for Leinster coaching sessions.

For the U13s, the week’s programme was a follow-on from sessions held in May. Cricket Leinster held coaching sessions for the U11 and U13 girls in Castleknock College for 4 weeks in May. There were over 65 players attending which reflects the growing strength of female cricket at club level.

For Covid safety reasons, there has been reduced opportunities for such sessions so this week has really helped us to see the players first-hand and this has also assisted the CL team with the selection for trial matches next week. 

Thanks to North Kildare CC for the use of their facilities throughout the week. The club has invested in new nets and a second ground which greatly assisted us in fulfilling our busy programme.

Selection notifications will be issued very shortly for next weeks Trial matches.

U15 Girls, Wednesday 14^th, Malahide CC, 10am start

These matches are being used to select a squad for the following matches with Northern squads, which is the most comprehensive match schedule we have ever had with the NCU and NWCU.

Thursday 5th, U15 Leinster vs U15 NWCU, in Leinster CC, 11.30am

Monday 9th, U13 NCU vs U13 Leinster, venue tbc, 11.30am 

Monday 16th, U13 Leinster vs U13 NCU, Mullingar CC, 11.30am
