  3. ADAMSTOWN STORM INTO SENIOR CUP QUARTER-FINALS (12.6.2026)
12th June 2026 by Cricket Leinster

ADAMSTOWN STORM INTO SENIOR CUP QUARTER-FINALS (12.6.2026)

On a historic evening for the fastest growing club in the province, Adamstown CC stormed past Premier League side Civil Service CC to book their place in the Quarter-Final of the LHW Leinster Senior Cup at Oak Hill this evening.

They will now travel to The Vineyard to face The Hills CC for a coveted place in the semi-finals.

In the last first round match of the LHW Leinster Senior Cup competition, Adamstown won the toss and chose to bat first in the T20 re-fix at Oak Hill against Civil Service earlier this evening.

The Adamstown openers ensured that their team got off to a strong start such that the home side had reached 60/0 off the first 6 overs, dominated by Abdul Khader who completed his 50 off just 31 balls (including 7X4 and 3X6).

Khader was eventually dismissed for 66 in the 10th over with the score on 96 and was quickly followed by his opening partner, Sidharth Biju for a run-a-ball 27.

The Adamstown captain (Prashanth Prabhu Damodaran) was then joined by Dinesh Antony as the two increased the momentum established by the openers. Antony plundered his 50 off just 24 balls as the team score passed 200 in the 18th over.

Captain Damodaran was finally dismissed for 42 off just 22 balls in the 19th over as his side ultimately posted an imposing total of 224/5 off their allotted innings overs.

All of the Civil Service bowlers came in for serious tap with Vijay Adhikari performing best amid the carnage, finishing with 2/38 off his 4 overs.

Set 225 to win at over 11 runs per over, Civil Service started the chase with a maiden over bowled by Shravon Biju. That said, Edson Silva had other ideas as he plundered 32 runs off Jaivir Singh Oberoi’s first over from the other end (2X4, 4X6).

A change of bowling brought the key wicket of Silva in just the 4th over of the chase off the bowling of Kidagan David for an incredible 45 off just 12 balls!

Arjan Adelkar then removed the Civil Service captain (Deepak Jayachandran) to add further pressure to the chase - 71/2 off the first 6 overs.

Adelkar’s contribution with the ball was crucial as he also removed Rahul Jadhav and Vijay Adhikari to reduce Service to 108/4 at the half way stage of the chase.

Oberoi then returned to the attack and immediately dismissed Arjun Chandrasekar and Mubasher Siddique before conceding two maximums to Hedayat Ullah Khogiani.

Service were now 6 down with a further 77 still needed off the final six overs.

Khogiani then took up the charge scoring 42 off just 20 balls as he tried in vain to keep his team up with the required rate.

Biju returned to dismiss him as Adamstown started to close in on the win. The end came quickly as Biju finished with 3/23 as part of a brilliant team performance.
