Youth Focus
There are already 1,724 youths registered across 36 clubs which bodes well for a great season of participation across the province. The introduction of youth cricket series for midlands clubs is a new innovation for the 2022 season and is in response to the ever growing numbers of youth cricketers registering with clubs in the midland region.
Women’s Cricket
There are now 770 female cricketers registered – Merrion again leads the way with 93 players whilst Pembroke (83), Leinster (63), Clontarf (49) and Phoenix (46) make up the top five so far.
Other clubs worthy of mention include Terenure (39), Adamstown (32), Balbriggan (31) as they are relative newcomers/returners to the female cricket programme.
