Railway Union CC would like to announce the following Coaching appointments for the 2015 season. We are very proud of the team of coaches we have assembled who will work hard and use their knowledge to help develop cricket and cricket players at Railway Union and in Leinster and Ireland. This team will work in conjunction with Kevin O'Brien and Kenny Carroll who oversee all cricket coaching at the club. They will be assisted by all our volunteer coaches who continue to help develop the sport of cricket and assist young aspiring cricketers progress in the game.
Ali Shah has been appointed to Youths and Mens teams Coach for the 2015 season. Ali comes from Surrey with a strong background in representative and club cricket in the Surrey area and has worked with well known coaches Mark Lane and Joey Benjamin.
Rob Abbott takes over the reins as Womens coach from Heather Whelan who is unavailable this season. Rob will also work extensively with our youth squads.
Josh Uddin is our Schools community coach. Josh has already begun delivering kwik cricket school coaching visits to local National Schools in particular Star of the Sea BNS and Lakelands GNS. Josh will work in conjunction with the overall school cricket programme in Dublin City area being implemented by the LCU / DCC by their Development Officer Fintan McAllister. We are very proud of the work we have put into developing cricket in local schools well over a decade. Many of the players who first start playing kwik cricket in the yard have gone onto represent Railway and Leinster at senior / representative levels.
Railway would like to put on record the Huge Thanks we have for Pat Collins who put in so much into the club for 4 years both on and off the pitch with playing , coaching and developing the sport of cricket. Thank You Pat.
Womens /Girls outdoor training starts on Monday 13th April 6.30pm
Mens teams on Tuesday 14th April 6.30pm
Boys training takes place on Tuesdays afternoons and Friday evenings (6.30pm) commencing 14th April and 17th April respectively .
All training takes place at our ground on Park Avenue in Sandymount where we have been playing cricket since 1904. Railway welcome ALL new players of all ages and standards and All backgrounds. Please email railwaycc@gmail.com for any enquiries.
