Belvedere won their first Leinster Senior Schools Final in 1924. On Tuesday, in Rathmines, they won it for the 35th time, making them comfortably the most successful school in over 100 years of the competition. Batting first Belvedere reached a very competitive 157/9 thanks to a solid 64 from captain Robert Forrest and a man-of-the-match 45* from Ian Guerin who rescued Belvedere from a middle order collapse.

With the loss of early wickets St Andrews were always chasing the game and despite something of a recovery thanks to Mark Loughrey and Aaron Bailey, too many wickets had fallen to allow St Andrews to stage a late victory. In the end Belvedere ran out winners by 39 runs.
