Carlow Cricket Club has a long history spanning from the 1800’s to its re-establishment in 2011 following the resettlement of the Rohingya community in Carlow. We now have many nationalities in our club with two adult teams, two children’s teams and a youth development squad, all competing in Cricket Leinster Leagues.
We train and play all of our home games in Carlow College, St. Patrick’s. We are very grateful to Carlow College, St. Patrick’s for their continuous support of our club. We have recently laid a new cricket mat in Carlow College, St. Patrick’s and have bought some new equipment that significantly increases the quality of facilities for Carlow cricketers.
There is an incredibly rich history of cricket in the county of Carlow dating back over the last two centuries, in 1823, the first recorded game of County Carlow Cricket Club was played at Avondale. and in 1831, according to Dublin histories founding date of Co. Carlow Cricket Club.
It was into the 21st Century though that the club was revived and since our founding in 2011 we have continued to make steady growth.
