A new feature of the Cricket Leinster website goes live today. An archive of winners and runners up of Leinster competitions going back to 1895 when Athy won the Intermediate Cup has been uploaded. There are some gaps, which it is hoped to fill over the coming months, but details on most of the main competitions are available.
Using the search feature it is possible to filter the information so that lists of records for clubs, teams, competitions and for a particular year or over a number of years can be produced. The list can then be printed. So if you want to find out if your club ever won the Junior Cup, how successful it was in the 1970s or who has won the Division 2 league most often, you can now do so.
It is also possible to attach information to a record. This has already been done for Leinster Senior Cup Finals where match reports and scorecards are being added each week.
If anyone has information from local club records that are not included in the archive please let us know [info@cricketleinster.ie] and we will update. The data in respect of youth, schools and womens competitions is quite limited. Hopefully we will be able to address this gap over the winter.
Finally, an update on the Cricket Leinster website itself. A report from Google Analytics shows that there were just over 70,000 visits to the site in July, this is the highest monthly total ever and an increase of 10,500 [17%] on the previous year. The number of unique users visiting the site in the month has gone above 14,000, an increase of just under 25% on last July.
