As the weather improves [for the moment] and the season moves into top gear - what can we expect of the coming week. Of course, dominating everything else is the forthcoming decision of ICC about the future status of Irish cricket. We are promised an announcement on Thursday.
In terms of the Russell Court D1/D2 leagues, we have a number of important refixes. Tonight Pembroke take on Cork County in Togher. And then over the next four evenings we have four RCD2 matches - Malahide v DU, North Kildare v Rush, Balbriggan v Railway and DU v Railway. A massively important week for the league with the final two DU double pointers. This week could go a long way towards determining promotion and relegation between RCD1/RCD2.
It is also a busy week for the Leinster Lightning with a three-day [First Class] match v the North West Warriers taking place in Oakhill from Tuesday. And then on Friday it is up North for a T20 match against the Northern Knights at Shaws Bridge.
And then finally, next weekend, we have the two remaining IBI Corporate Finance LSC games as well as the start of the LHK Insurance Alan Murray T20 competition - played under its new format. Also next weekend there will be the first round of the Middle II Cup and QFs of the Senior II Cup.
On Wednesday in Malahide, we have the final of the Blue Insurance Leprechaun Cup between Oliver Plunkett's NS and Howth Road NS.
There is also a busy schedule of youth matches [with the second round of the Boys U13 Cup next Saturday, and some Kidds Insurance Womens D2/D3 matches.
