In D2 of the RSA Open Competitions the wins by Pembroke and Phoenix go a long way towards settling the two promotion spots. Malahide needed to win against Phoenix and Rush had to avoid a loss against the bottom placed team [at the start of the day] Leinster II. These results means that Phoenix have an effective two win margin over Rush [17% points]. The Phoenix v Rush match at the end of the season [8th September] could still be decisive but Phoenix have the easier run in [both play Pembroke but Rush must play Malahide while Phoenix take on Cork County].

At the bottom of the table Cork County are now last and need at least two wins from their final four games. Belvedere will probably be safe if they can get another win from their last three games but it remains very tight between them and Leinster II [less than 1% point]. All three teams have to play each other so it is still all to play for.
