Progress’ Report 6th August 2012
In this appalling summer it has been hard to really engage with the state of play in the various leagues with the lack of results and the mounting backlog of fixtures. However clubs are doing their best and I would encourage them to put in an even greater effort to complete their program.
The following is a summary of league standings at present. Each league starts with the number of results in and the total number of fixtures in the league.
Boys
U11A 33 out of 55 fixtures. YMCA are unbeaten but are followed by Leinster and Clontarf with one loss each.
U11B 25 out of 40 fixtures. Phoenix and Clontarf head the Northern section and Leinster and Old Belvedere lead the South.
U11C 32 out of 49 fixtures. The Northern section is too close to call and YMCA are dominating the southern section with one of Leinster, Greystones (making their debut) and Pembroke making the other semi final spot.
U13A 47 out of 78 fixtures. Leinster are unbeaten but are followed by YMCA with one loss.
U13B 28 out of 36 fixtures. Leinster, North Kildare and Rush are in contention here.
U13C 11 out of 21 fixtures. YMCA are odds on to win this league.
U15A 14 out of 36 fixtures. Clontarf and North County are both unbeaten but there is a long way to go.
U15B 11 out of 43 fixtures. Clontarf, Knockharley and Rush are unbeaten in the Northern section and Merrion and Pembroke in the Southern section. This league has only 25% of games played and is likely to have a great many rain draws deciding the semi final slots.
U17 14 out of 30 fixtures. Leinster and YMCA S are unbeaten in section 1, Pembroke and YMCA N in section 2 and it is very tight in division 3.
U19 9 out of 13 fixtures. Clontarf have qualified for next Friday’s final but the Southern section is between Railway Union, Terenure and YMCA.
Girls
U11 39 out of 55 fixtures. Pembroke (first year in U11) are leading but are being closely followed by The Hills who are the only unbeaten side.
U13 14 out of 28 fixtures. Leinster, Malahide and YMCA are all unbeaten.
U15 10 out of 21 fixtures. Appears to be between Malahide, Merrion and YMCA.
U17 4 out of 10 fixtures. Four clubs have one victory each.
To summarise, the competitions with crossover semi finals are under the most pressure as the rest have until the end of August to complete their fixtures. Any club who have not submitted resutls for matches played, please do so immediately so that the League Tables can be kept up to date in the run in to the end of the season.
