At a recent meeting of the Open Competitions Committee it was decided to extend the experiment of playing T20 competitions with Pink Balls for a second year. For the 2014 season both the Tillain Cup and the YMCA Salver will use Pink balls approved by the LCU.
An order for a supply of balls will be made shortly and the clubs involved [see below] are asked to confirm by 9th February how many they wish to order. The cost is €12.50 per ball and will be included as part of the annual club fees. If a club does not reply it will be assumed that they only require a ball for their first round match. If clubs need additional balls during the season they will be able to purchase from normal cricket outlets. The €12.50 price refers only to balls that are pre-ordered.
The clubs involved in the Tillain Cup and/or the YMCA Salver are as follows: North County, Malahide, Clontarf, Laois, The Hills, Dundrum, North Kildare, Civil Service, Merrion, Pembroke, Leinster, YMCA, Railway Union, Phoenix [both competitions] and Mullingar, Sandyford, Greystones, Adamstown, Castleknock, Rush, Balbriggan, Terenure and Wicklow [one competition].
