The OCC is aware of allegations that there have been cases of teams playing an individual in a match and falsifying the scorebook and result card by including the name of a different player. In particular the individual who actually plays would be from a higher team, thus giving his team a dishonest advantage. One such case did come to light some weeks ago . It became evident during a game that such an attempt was being made. Although the club involved took its own strong action against their members involved, OCC has taken the matter so seriously that a further sanction has been imposed on the club.
We are hopeful that the registration system can be developed to make such things extremely difficult, if not impossible, to carry out. Unless and until that happens, we are warning clubs that any attempted such practice will not be tolerated and any club found guilty of it will be sanctioned most severely.
