There were three more matches over the weekend, with the fourth, the abandoned tie between Dundrum 1 and Greystones 1 left out of the averages until the OCC decides on the outcome of the game.
On Saturday , Dundrum beat bottom of the table Merrion 3 by 33 runs, their total of 266 all out based on 72 from Medwin Hippolitus and 54 from Abilash Sukumaran. In reply Merrion got close enough to grab four important bonus points, and at 215-5 were in a promising position. The performance of the day went to Merrion's Pat Carty, who took 6-46 in his first appearance for Merrion 3 in nearly a year.
On Sunday, Railway Union 2 recovered from 19-4 to post 196 all out with the North County wickets spread between the bowlers. The North County batting has been impressive all season, with Niall McGovern in a different class to everyone else, and it was the same at the weekend. McGovern and Jamie Grassi put on 105 for the first wicket, North County 2nd's first 100 opening partnership since we started recording all partnerships at the beginning of the 2014 season. That set County up and they won by 7 wickets with 26 overs to spare.
In the final game, Malahide 2 stayed top, with a 7 wicket win over YMCA 3. At 50-6, YM looked in all sorts of trouble, mainly caused by Glenn Kirwan with 3-18. But Nathan Johns, with his maiden century, scored a brilliant 137, the highest score for YMCA 3 since Matthew Quirke scored 158* against Leinster 4 in 2011. 244 was a total for YM to work with, but Malahide made the chase look easy, winning by 7 wickets, with over six overs to spare. Nick Turner and Alan Reynolds both scored 50s.
