YMCA currently top Division 8 with two wins from two completed games, but have a win and a loss yet to be officially recorded. Even with these taken into account they will still top the table but their lead over the peloton [it being that time of year] is narrowing. Bagenalstown, Civil Service II and Leinster IV all look capable of competing for honours. Indeed this nine team league could turn out to be hotly contested with seven teams over 50% and five over 60%.
At the other end of the table things look pretty difficult for Dundalk at the moment with seven loses out of seven. The Hills II also have a way to go to take them away from the relegation spots. In all 30 games have been played up to 29th June. 174 players have competed of whom 44 are youth players.
Four players qualify for the batting averages [up to 23rd June] with 150 runs but there have been no centuries. Nadum Shimal is the top run scorer and Sam Pateman has the highest batting average.
There are also four players who qualify for the bowling averages with 10 wickets or more. Andrew Williams [Dundalk] has taken the most wickets and also tops the averages. Chris Siddell [Malahide] has the best individual bowling performance with 7/11.
