The deadline for the first Open Competitions starrings of the year is now less than four weeks away, and most clubs still have lots of work to do to be able to meet that deadline.
For those clubs that may be new to the starring process, a guide to the system was produced back in 2012, and this can be viewed at http://www.cricketleinster.ie/media/Guidance/535_occ-2012-guide-to-starring-/535_occ-2012-guide-to-starring--35459453.pdf
All clubs that have more than one league team, must submit an ordered list of their players once every month - with the first list of the year having to be submitted by April 12th.
The one change in the starring system this year, is that only one player can play "down" from a higher team to a lower team in all competitions. However, there are major changes in the process of registration, with all adult players now compelled to upload a photo to their profile.
Adult players will not be registered until they have uploaded a photo, and clubs will not be able to include these players in their starrings. These players will also not be able to take the field until the photo is uploaded.
As it stands, over 100 players have started the registration process, but have not uploaded a photo, with only Malahide and Balbriggan having enough players regsitered to be able to submit starrings
