Jimmy Joyce Steps Down

Last week Jimmy Joyce [President of Cricket Ireland] stepped down from the post for personal reasons. Cricket Ireland Chairman Ross McCollum said: “I am aware of the great difficulty that Jimmy Joyce had in making this decision and he can be assured that he has the utmost respect and support of everyone involved with Cricket Ireland.’ Cricket Leinster would like to endorse the sentiments of Ross McCallum.

Arthur Vincent has agreed to take on role for the remainder of the one-year term.

Malahide CC

Malahide has been confirmed [subject to ICC granting ODI accreditation] as the proposed venue for one day international between Ireland and England next season.  Malahide will also host two Twenty/20 games against the touring South Africa A side later this summer.

RSA Inter-Regional Game

Unfortunately due to the terrible weather this weekend the inter-regional game North v South schedule for the Mardyke on Sunday has had to be cancelled. This fixture has suffered more than most over the past couple of years and it is to be hoped that the return fixture which is due to take place in the NCU area on Sunday 22nd July will go ahead as planned.
