Beach Cricket is fun filled entertainment, competitive cricket played on beach with varied rules from professional cricket. It is unique, quickest and funniest version of cricket played on beach with team of six players using tennis ball. The game is open for all age group, sex and all levels of players - beginners, amateur and professionals. Beach cricket is organised every year in summer during lowtide timings. Number of players and teams register on the festival day or prior to the date to participate in a Beach cricket tournament. Teams are pooled in number of groups and fixtures arranged for championship tournament. Each teams play in Group stages and knockout stages for the title.
Sixth annual Beach Cricket Festival is taking place on Saturday, 27th June 2015 at Bettystown-Laytown beaches between 12-6pm. Each team consists of 6 players, each match is of 5 Overs. Beautiful long stretch of beach in East meath coast has been the plance for Beach Cricket Festival since 2010. UNITAS has been hosting this event successfully over the past five year. Every year 10 to 15 teams from across Ireland participate in the Festival. This year, in addition to Beach Cricket, there are more Beach games planned including Beach Volleyball and Beach races.
