The long weekend's results saw some big changes for Leinster clubs in our All-Ireland rankings. YMCA and Merrion's strong start to the season saw them both move up two places, at the expense of Instonians and The Hills - the latter losing to Pembroke in Milverton.
Clontarf and Railway Union also slipped a place after their defeats, whilst Malahide also moved up to 26th after winning their first game of the season against Rush. Quirks in the system mean that Leinster and Terenure both endured better weeks than they may have imagined.
Matches against 2nd teams aren't included in the rankings, so Leinster's (and Phoenix's) losses last week don't sully their rankings. Leinster's in particular is yet to be updated this year, as their matches against Cork were also rained out.
Terenure move up three places 32nd (leapfrogging Rush in the process). Even though they lost, they receive more points for losing to a strong side such as Merrion than they would have in the past for beating a weak Division 2 side.
This week sees the first round of the Irish Senior Cup. How do the rankings predict the 16 matches going? Those matches most likely to see an upset are listed first. If anything towards the bottom of the list doesn't happen, it will be a major shock!
