Alongside the number of centuries scored this season there have also been some very large partnerships. Forty four partnership of over 200 are recorded in the annals of Leinster Senior Cricket.
The highest partnership, and the only one over 300, was achieved this year by Hugh Pike and Josh Tasman Jones for Trinity against Leinster II. Naseer Shoukat and Daryl Calder achieved another record for The Hills in the match against Balbriggan [RSA Leinster Senior Cup] by becoming the first pair to achieve a 200 run partnership for the fifth wicket.
Other points worth noting. Of the 44 partnerships since 1919, over half [23] were made since 2000. The names that feature a number of times include Jason Molins [3], including 221* with his father Rodney in 1999 for Railway Union against North County, Chris Torrisi [3], Deryck Vincent [3] and Andre Botha [3]. Jeremy Bray has featured in four double century partnerships. The person who occurs most often on the list [5] is Brad Spanner for Merrion. He also shared the most 200+ partnerships [3] with the same person [Torrisi].
Over the years major partnerships have occurred most often at Rathmines and in the Phoenix Park, with other popular venues being College Park and Park Avenue [some venues missing]. The club with most partnerships on the list is Phoenix.
The top five partnerships [for the respective wickets] are:
1st W | 2010 | 295 | Larkin / Flanagan | Phoenix |
2nd W | 2013 | 342 | Pike / Tasman Jones | Trinity |
3rd W | 2001 | 280 | Spanner / Torrisi | Merrion |
4th W | 2012 | 247 | Jansen / Iqbal | Rush |
5th W | 2013 | 203 | Shoukat / Calder | The Hills |
